HSM: reducing waste in a sustainable way

HSM develops, produces and sells products and systems for pressing recyclable materials as well as for cutting and shredding paper and electronic data carriers.

Hermann Schwelling Maschinenbau GmbH + Co. KG was founded in Salem in 1971, and one year later began selling the first cardboard baling press.

As is the case with many of the world's most successful companies, the company's development began in a small workshop. Today, the office technology product range includes cutting machines, document shredders, shredder-press combinations and cardboard perforators.

In the area of environmental technology, the product portfolio comprises vertical, horizontal and channel balers with a pressing force of up to 150 tons as well as PET solutions. The product portfolio also includes the planning and implementation of system solutions for shredding and baling of the most diverse recyclable materials such as paper, plastics, cardboard, composites, PET, foams, tires, hard plastics, etc.

HSM has 3 production sites in Germany (Salem, Frickingen, Reichenbach) and a joint venture in China for the production of entry-level document shredders. In addition, there are subsidiaries in the USA, England, France and Poland. HSM employees work together in a worldwide sales network with sales and service centers in more than 100 countries.
