VCI Controlox kraft Corrosion Protection Paper, along with the other Controlox corrosion protection products, eliminates the need for oils and greases to prevent corrosion and the toxic residues they produce. This is why VCI is environmentally friendly. In addition, the material is made of organic materials and does not represent any danger to people or living beings. Polyethylene is recyclable.

The manufacturing process is as follows. The VCI component evaporates from the plastic or paper and concentrates on the metal surfaces, forming a molecular layer that protects the part. VCI migrates to the most hidden corners of a part and prevents moisture, salt, dirt, oxygen or other corrosive materials from reaching the metal surface. The vapors bind to the surface of the metal due to their polar orientation and align themselves in layers of 3 to 5 molecules, creating a barrier that pacifies the electrical charge of the metal and stops the reaction of oxygen, which in contact with the metal molecules produces rust. Outside the container, the part does not need any treatment to remove this layer, since it evaporates and is released into the air without posing any danger to people or animals.
